![]() ![]() It seems that Disk Management will do this for some drives but not others. I want diskmgmt.msc to display the drive label (e.g., "DATA_1") when the drive is connected. The encrypted drive is an internal drive mounted in an external dock. after mounting with Veracrypt: Any idea swelcome ! Ok, looks like you do not answer till I've proven that it's not down to the "missing" parameters entered via the gui. I created a ticket on github at Same steps to reproduce Something has changed but is there a work around without recuding Mac security? Thanks I have trouble installing and opening veracrypt encrypted folders without changing the Mac security-allowing extension from Benjamin Fletcher. Is there a way to make it work without reducing security in my Mac? Even my older Mac running Big Sur that had no trouble installing veracrypt and MacFuse and encrypting a jump drive before Now has trouble opening up the drive. Using.Īttaching screenshot for my comment above But with details if you're interested in those. The Container will open without error message :) Detailed Steps Below is the same temporary workaround as above. Using VeraCrypt, unmount the Container, then mount it. Using Terminal, execute the appropriate mkfs command to manually and very carefully add the missing partition. Mount the Container with Do not mount filesystem option. Temporary workaround Summary Using VeraCrypt, create a new Container Volume, using Filesystem field set to None. However if I remember well, I did not have enough space last time I added files. Since I did it, I could access many times to this volume without problem. I used Veracrypt (1-24 update 6 / 64-bit) three years ago to create a volume on an external hard-disk (Toshiba, 1 Tb). ![]() Hi, Thanks for publishing this message! _ Hi, I have a Dell computer working with Windows 10. Hi I was just wondering if 1.26 is being released or still tested? I know that encrypted drive backup should be about. Backup is completed but the resulting file is 60% of the disk size. But about a week after veracrypt install and using, i tried a backup again and it does not work anymore. Then i rebooted with a live linux usb and made dd backup of the entire device. I installed veracrypt on a windows 11 laptop and encrypted the whole drive with veracrypt. I have been trying to get over a problem. In the case of emergency where I have no other access than cloud I would download them, create bootable flash drive with them and and do recovery. Hello, I have 2 Veracrypt recovery disks from laptop and desktop that I want to backup to a local storage media and also password-protect and store in the cloud. In the case of emergency where I have no other access than cloud I would download them, create bootable flash drive with them and do the recovery. Please try to check ~/.wxHe圎ditor permissions to diagnose issue.Hello, I have 2 Veracrypt recovery disks from laptop and desktop that I want to backup to a local storage media and also password-protect and store in the cloud. In OpenSuSE, I tried with gnomesu and there are no issues because "gnomesu wxHe圎ditor" just write that configuration file to /root/.wxHe圎ditor instead of my home directory and don't have such issue. It might change the permissions of the ~/.wxHe圎ditor file where the configurations are stored at "your" home directory. It's might probably due "sudo wxHe圎ditor" command. But they are not in safe anymore if they just trying to change their USB flash disk by using wxHe圎ditor with sudo. Users are in safe if they don't alter their boot drives this way. I don't think if anyone inspects even the original the code well. Or such a code could be injected somehow from someone. This is 3rd party program and it could include a backdoor to your system. ![]() And people couldn't trust the program that doesn't come with OS. In linux, I think the common way is reducing permissions of file, not elevate program permissions to root. So this create issues more than it solves. Do not think this for just devices but read-only files that belongs to root or someone other. ![]()
